You may have previously seen the Hawaii Vacation project, courtesy of the Cambodian Association at South Center, in which youth learn what it takes to plan a trip to Hawaii and celebrate with their own luau, or you may have seen the Garden Based Learning summer project.  Now check out the enhanced projects, which are rich with literacy opportunities and uses the components of the YET model (Read Aloud, Shout Out, Writing, Vocabulary, and Independent Reading) to teach youth about everything from budgeting to soil.

Thanks to Literacy Coaches Keo Chea and Mel Nazulme for their contributions to these projects.
