Andy Zheng and Ameen Widad of the United Communities of Southeast ScienceFairPhotoEditedPhiladelphia-Fell OST program participated in this year’s 34th annual George Washington Carver Science Fair hosted at the Academy of Natural Science at Drexel University. The Science Fair provided students from Philadelphia schools and OST programs an opportunity to demonstrate their science knowledge and compete against one another.

Thanks to their creativity and hard work, Zheng and Widad won 1st place in the 6th grade team projects category. In their project, “Blow Blow Pop Pop!” they asked “Do different liquids effect the bubble population?” They studied water, Sprite, Coca-Cola, syrup and Palmolive dish liquid soap to complete this experiment.

When asked about how they felt Ameen stated “he was speechless and proud of their hard work.”  Andy stated “he was proud and grateful he was able to participate and looks forward to next year.”  The Fell OST program is proud of Andy and Ameen for their hard work and dedication.
