High school students from United Communities of Southeast Philadelphia celebrated Lights On Afterschool in style! Local teen groups, including drill teams, vocalists and dancers, all came together to celebrate the importance of afterschool programming in their communities and in their lives. Over 200 parents and community members attended, and were excited to support the students and their work.

The event, held on October 25th, 2013 (national Lights on Afterschool Day), was hosted by a United Communities teen group, the Deadly Dance Crew. Along with exciting performances, the event also featured a discussion of the importance of afterschool program funding, and parents and community members were encouraged to sign a petition in support of this funding.

A video of the performances can be found here.
