PHMC is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Roman as the Program and Quality Manager for the DHS OST Project, effective Tuesday, January 21, 2014. As Program and Quality Manager, Tom oversees PHMC Program Specialists and PHMC-delivered professional development for the DHS OST programs.
Tom has been committed to helping young people find their purpose and reach their potential for over 20 years, leading and delivering education and youth serving programs for at-risk and out-of-school youth. Prior to PHMC, Tom worked with Communities In Schools managing four Student Success Centers in Philadelphia and leading the Graduation Coach Initiative across the state of Georgia.
In addition to his work in college access and dropout prevention, Tom has served as an executive director of a non-profit organization serving juvenile offenders, managed workforce development programs and served as a school counselor in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Tom has a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, a Master’s in Education from Loyola College in Maryland, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland.
